a) Limitations of effectiveness: If a permanent source of acid or alkali is present in the pond, PondStarter will be consumed more quickly because it constantly has to neutralize the substances. Once PondStarter is completely used up, the pH value will no longer be stable. Certain types of concrete or cement, sometimes used in pond construction, can release alkali into the pond water over extended periods, causing a significant rise in pH. During water changes, previously used PondStarter may be partially or completely removed from the pond with the water and will therefore no longer be effective. In such cases, a new dose is recommended.

b) Interaction with other products: We recommend applying PondStarter one day before using algaecides (e.g., AlgoSol, AlgoSol forte, Filamentous Algae Killer). The other products in the Söll pond care range can be used together with PondStarter at any time. If persistent cloudiness or brown discoloration of the water occurs after applying PondStarter, this is likely due to the prior use of peat, humic substances, or other pond treatment products. In most cases, the cloudiness or discoloration can be eliminated by using OxygenActivator.

Our application and dosage recommendation: After heavy rain. When refilling or replenishing the pond with tap/rain/well water. Sprinkle evenly over the pond. Never dissolve or stir beforehand! Filter systems can remain in operation while adding the product. 100 g of Pond Starter per 1,000 liters of pond water. Rainwater, cistern water, and well water often have very low pH values. In these cases, we recommend doubling the dosage. Pond Starter cannot be overdosed.
