Phosphate binder tablets

Polymeric phosphate adsorber in tablet form for water volumes up to 45000 liters and as a replacement filling for the hose dispenser.

For ponds with a water volume of up to 45 m³, these tablets can be used for the sustainable reduction of phosphate levels. For this purpose, the tablets must be placed in an area with good water flow (e.g., a waterfall or stream). Included in delivery: filter tablets and mesh bag.

Phosphates can enter pond water in many ways. Tap water is very often already enriched with phosphates, so topping up the water to compensate for evaporation or after vacuuming the pond can lead to new algae growth.

The American company Applied Polymer Systems Inc. has developed a phosphate binder that requires water flow to be effective. It is therefore ideally suited for treating top-up water. Our own tests have shown that the phosphate binder tablets require a reaction time. A slight phosphate drop of approximately 10% can be measured immediately after application. After one day, the phosphate level of the added water was below the measurement limit of the photometer (0.01 mg/l). It should be noted that this was under laboratory conditions. APS states an average reduction of between 75-85%, which seems realistic to us as an average value in real-world conditions. However, in real-world conditions, external influences cannot be precisely controlled. Therefore, results may vary. Our own test in the pond resulted in a significant reduction in the phosphate level.

The tablets have a rubbery consistency. The polymers dissolve in the water stream and bind the phosphate molecules in a flocculation reaction. After use, the tablets can be dried and stored until they are used up.
