Hose dispenser with phosphate binder tablets for refill water or for integration into a filter circuit. Phosphates can enter pond water in many ways. Very often, tap water is already enriched, so that refilling as compensation for evaporation or after pond vacuuming can lead to new algae growth. Phosphate adsorber materials such as Phosgran require a certain retention time or a low flow rate to achieve sufficient results. These materials are therefore better suited as long-term filters.

The American company Applied Polymer Systems Inc. has developed a phosphate binder that requires flow to be effective. It is therefore ideally suited for treating refill water. Our own tests have shown that the phosphate binder tablets require a reaction time. A slight phosphate reduction of approx. 10% can be measured immediately after passing through. After one day, the phosphate value of the filled water was below the photometer's detection limit (0.01 mg/l) – under laboratory conditions, mind you. APS states an average reduction of between 75–85%, which seems realistic to us as an average value in the field. In the field, external influences cannot be limited, so the results may vary. Our own test in the pond led to a significant reduction in the phosphate value.

The tablets have a rubber-like consistency. The polymers dissolve in the water flow and bind the phosphate molecules in a type of flocculation reaction. The tablets can be dried and stored after use until they are used up. The hose dispenser has two click connections for garden hoses and withstands a water pressure of up to 8 bar. Refillable with replacement tablets.
