A new development from the USA. Made from the same material as phosphate binder tablets. A non-toxic polymeric phosphate binder, ideal for preventing filamentous algae growth in pond water with excessively high phosphate levels. Its effect is achieved through the binding of phosphates and nitrates to released polymers. These bindings are largely irreversible. This deprives the algae of their nutrient base and prevents excessive algal growth. Good water flow is necessary to ensure sufficient release of the polymer molecules.

The entire block is sufficient for ponds with a water capacity of up to 400,000 liters.

Half a block is sufficient for 200,000 liters. These are only guidelines based on normal phosphate levels. If in doubt, choose the larger version.

The material has undergone various toxicological tests by the manufacturer and has been classified as safe. It is not an algicide, but works purely on the basis of nutrient binding. Therefore, direct algae eradication is not to be expected. The aim is to worsen the living conditions for the algae by depriving them of nutrients, in order to achieve medium- to long-term success in algae control.
Independent studies show that phosphate binding of up to 85% is achieved.

With a weak airflow, a block lasts one season until it completely disintegrates. The stronger the airflow, the faster the block disintegrates. The detached fibers continue to act elsewhere until the material has completely dissolved. Any remaining blocks can be dried and stored at the end of the season.

The block is supplied in a filter bag.
